Rick Rainville, President

“My professional experience and my passion for golf made the formation of KOVA Golf Management, the next logical step, in my career.  As a former GM for many years, I understand the challenges clubs are faced with.  The need for resources and support, in all areas, is crucial as leaders are expected to wear multiple hats and perform responsibilities outside the scope of their job descriptions and areas of expertise.  I know the struggles first-hand.  I also know that KOVA Golf Management is the solution.”

As President, of KOVA Golf Management, Rick Rainville is responsible for KOVA’s nationwide business. Mr. Rainville and his team of industry leading Golf Management, Hospitality and Entertainment professionals deliver expertise in all areas of club operations to golf, sports, and dining clubs throughout the United States. He is involved in all aspects of managing KOVA’s operations and workforce: including leading efforts to develop and implement strategies to increase brand affinity and awareness, setting the company’s goals and growth strategy, building value for clients, and identifying emerging trends that will affect clients.

A respected authority and leader in the golf and hospitality industries for over two decades, Rainville has overseen operations for some of the country’s most successful properties including Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort.  He is recognized as an innovator among his peers, and he has received many awards and honors for his work and achievements.  “I’m always striving to be exceptional in my professional and personal life.”

Mr. Rainville has played a central role in major strategic initiatives. He has overseen numerous clubhouse renovations, golf course renovations and club acquisitions. He has successfully hosted five PGA TOUR, three LPGA TOUR and two CHAMPIONS TOUR events during his career. He is a strategic thinker, strong leader, and project manager, that has successfully guided clubs and staff through good times, and the most difficult of times.

Mr. Rainville began his career with WCI Communities, Inc. working in high-end private golf clubs and spent 23 years as a leader in his organization, progressing and mentoring others throughout his career. He has excelled as a General Manager, Regional Manager, and Golf Professional. He has created a culture of excellence at every club where he has worked which has resulted in high performing, exceptional service-oriented organizations.  “My best work as well as my best days have come from associating with people who have an extraordinary drive to better themselves and serve others.”

A native of Rhode Island, Mr. Rainville moved to Florida to pursue a career in golf. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication and media studies from the University of Rhode Island and is a member of the PGA of America.

Jim Magnusson, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Sales

“Growing up as a kid in Iowa, my dad shared a quote, from the legendary Basketball Hall of Famer from UCLA, John Wooden, “Success comes from knowing that you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.”  I have lived by this quote all of my life, from my faith, family, academics, athletics and my career.  There is no short cut to success and I have always thrived on being a result-driven professional.”

Jim Magnusson leads business development and sales for KOVA Golf Management.  He works with key leaders and sales professionals across the KOVA Golf network to drive growth for clients.  This includes new business, organic growth and promoting the latest platforms and services.

An established industry veteran, Mr. Magnusson is a peak performer and performance-driven marketing and sales executive with over 25 years of accomplishments in the golf industry. Mr. Magnusson began his career with The PGA of America as the Marketing and Sales Director in the Tournament Division involving the PGA Championship and Ryder Cup Matches.  He also served as the Marketing and Sales Director for PGA Golf Properties, responsible for developing and implementing all marketing and sales programs for the Golf Properties Division.

“In today’s world of digital marketing and social media, there is opportunity to use intelligent automation to help us focus resources on the tasks that really add value and deliver results.  Using a common platform for all our data helps to build strong customer relationships across all our digital channels including social, video, web and e-mails (blogs).”

After 16 years with the PGA, Jim served as the Revenue Development Director at WCI Communities, responsible for approximately $91 million in revenue for all WCI golf clubs.  In 2011, he joined Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples as the Director of Marketing, and Sales.  During his tenure, Tiburón implemented successful marketing and sales platforms that supported multimillion dollar annual budgets and produced over 250 new memberships.  In 2016, Mr. Magnusson was offered an opportunity to join his colleagues at a new, exciting and niche golf management company called KOVA Golf.

Mr. Magnusson graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in business management.  While at the University of Iowa, he received a scholarship and played basketball under Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Lute Olson.  Following graduation, he coached basketball under Hall of Famer Tex Winter at Long Beach State while attending graduate school in marketing and brand management.

Tracy Bradbury, Vice President of Operations

“Product excellence is extremely important, but it’s the people who ultimately create memorable experiences for our guests that make us successful.  Investing in people and creating these moments are the reasons I’m in hospitality.”

Tracy Bradbury began her career in hospitality, at The Ritz-Carlton, under the guidance and support of excellent mentors.  “I learned from the best.  Service excellence, enriched culture, and standards are words that take on a different meaning when you have experienced The Ritz-Carlton.  You live them, you believe them, but most importantly, you deliver them.”  During her time there, Ms. Bradbury assumed leadership roles in a variety of food and beverage experiences, from tapas to the bar, from poolside to three-meal dining, from fine dining to in-room dining.  “Each opportunity provided me with a different level of understanding of how to provide five-star service, but the most rewarding experience was my role in transforming the three-meal dining experience.”

Ms. Bradbury’s passion for people, planning and creativity enticed her to move from restaurant operations to meetings and special events and banquets where she enjoyed one-on-one relationships with her clients.  “Finding the right words to describe the feeling of planning and executing the perfect wedding for a couple isn’t possible.  It’s emotional to know that I was a part of a life-changing moment.”

Ms. Bradbury was then presented with an opportunity to be Director of Food & Beverage at Tiburón Golf Club and was responsible for the entire food and beverage operation.  She integrated P&L goal-driven results by initiating standard operating procedures on purchasing, inventory controls, and account payable systems.  Ms. Bradbury restructured and reorganized the department to make more efficient use of time and cost controls, elevated the dining experience by re-training the entire team on service standards, menu knowledge, and expectations, and increased banquet revenue by bringing in more local groups and hosting more high-end functions.

Ms. Bradbury has a record of excellence in transforming cultures, reducing labor costs, creating and implementing staff development and training programs, increasing sales through incentive programs, problem- resolution, and customer service.  She leads by example and elevates the standards in every food and beverage operation she has overseen.

Ms. Bradbury received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Buffalo and her Master of Arts from New York University.  Prior to joining the hospitality industry, she was a tenured teacher, in Long Island.  She is a leader in turning toxic cultures into successes through consistency, accountability, commitment, and caring.  Her outgoing personality, love for laughter, organizational strengths, and leadership skills make her a perfect fit for the hospitality industry.  When not working, Ms. Bradbury enjoys spending time with her family.

Bill Delayo, Strategic Advisor of Business Development

Inspirational leader, coach and team builder with more than 25 years of executive management expertise in the golf and hospitality business. Bill’s impressive resume includes tenure working for the PGA TOUR where he was honored to be appointed as the opening general manager and COO at two premier properties – TPC Louisiana just outside New Orleans and TPC Treviso Bay in Naples, Florida. Bill has demonstrated proficiency in all areas of club membership marketing and positioning, operations, financial and capital asset project management. He was most recently chief operating officer for PGA TOUR Experiences, a strategic partner of the PGA TOUR. Bill and his team were responsible for fulfilling unique vacation experiences, corporate events and VIP retreats for many of the PGA TOUR’s corporate partners. Prior to his tenure with PGA TOUR Experiences, Bill was the chief operating officer at two premier properties here in SW Florida, Wildcat Run Country Club and Shadow Wood Country Club. Bill’s early career experience included serving as regional director of operations for Billy Casper Golf, director of golf operations at Fiddler’s Elbow CC in New Jersey and senior financial analyst for Johnson and Johnson, Inc.

Bill is a class “A” member of the PGA of America and an accomplished PGA professional while also maintaining membership in the Club Manager’s Association of America (CMAA). Bill was born, on the marine base, in Camp Lejeune, NC. He moved to New Jersey when he was two years old where he spent all his childhood and early adult years until moving to Annapolis, Maryland in 1999…and has never looked back.

Bill received a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and accountancy from Villanova University, where he was a scholarship member of the golf team. Bill enjoys reading, studying golf course architecture, financial investments and all outdoor activities especially paddle boarding, running, and simply spending time relaxing at the beach with his wife Jennifer and daughter Lindsay. Bill is an avid Villanova Wildcats, New York Yankees and New York Giants fan! Passionate about giving back, Bill and his wife Jennifer are avid supporters of the HEAL organization and other causes promoting awareness for Autism.
